This is due to Australia’s legislation of carbon emission targets, which took place in 2022, when they committed to achieving net zero by 2050, and a significant reduction in emission levels by 2030. To achieve this, the Australian government has set out a Long-Term Emissions Reduction Plan, which focuses on a technology-based approach of reducing emissions . The government plans to invest AUD 20 billion on low carbon power over the next ten years, with the goal of unlocking AUD 80 billion of public and private investment in new technologies. With this in mind, Australian companies have set their own goals within their organisations to reduce their carbon footprint, investing in new technologies and alternative options to achieve this.
