The global Health and Wellness Foods market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6%, to reach $1.1 trillion by 2027, and Asia Pacific is expected to be a strong contributor to this growth.

Each ASEAN market is unique in nature, so brands must look beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to accessing the region. Successful international brands are those that have pursued a localisation strategy catered to the relevant ASEAN market.

A recent report by McKinsey forecast that the Grocery market in Malaysia is expected to grow between 10% to 12% in 2023. This expansion is being driven by a combination of traditional and modern trade avenues. An exporter has numerous routes to market within ASEAN, split into: convenience stores, e-commerce, supermarkets, hypermarkets, other mass grocery retail, and traditional grocery retail.

Choosing the right approach within the right ASEAN market can be a daunting task. What’s more, the diversity of markets and cultures within the ASEAN region makes it more challenging. For example, research has shown that Singapore consumers prioritise health over taste, while other key ASEAN markets prioritise taste over health.

This meet the expert session will look to provide guidance and solutions to exporters considering this diverse range of markets.
