This event aims to shed light on the UK-India opportunities in aerospace and defence and allow UK businesses to learn from experts and experienced companies about how to create successful joint ventures (JVs) and technology transfers to India.
In collaboration with the UK India Business Council (UKIBC), we’re delighted to host this virtual event for UK aerospace and defence-related companies – both those looking to maintain and expand existing operations in/with India and those looking to explore the market for the first time.
In 2021, the UK and Indian Prime Ministers set out a shared vision for the UK-India defence partnership, agreeing to advance existing cooperation. Both governments have agreed a joint statement and 2030 roadmap, which includes a free trade agreement. This marks the beginning of a promising new era for UK-India research and collaboration on Indian combat air, maritime propulsion, space, cyber security, and beyond. With the third-highest defence spending in the world, India is embarking on a major defence, aerospace, and maritime upgrade with a focus on a ‘Make in India’ programme, which is already attracting international companies who are making this a key part of their global manufacturing operation.
UK defence firms need to be invested in India or partnering with Indian firms to participate in the Indian Defence market. There are two aspects to this.
In this in-depth workshop, you will hear from practitioners, experts, and successful JVs from the UK-India corridor. Participants will also hear from successful companies explaining how they are collaborating and creating win-win situations for both sides. The event is aimed at companies looking to tap into the Indian market who would like to get a nuanced view on how to explore partnerships to succeed in the region.
